RC 360

Ritchey-Chrétien 360
This is an optical tube with a 360 mm mirror and a 2944 mm focal length, and is recommended for use in fixed positions to allow viewing and imaging of medium field deep sky objects.  It is available in both open truss and closed tube configurations in carbon fibre.   They are well placed for viewing and imaging of more faint objects such as galaxies, planetary nebulae, clusters and close-ups of diffuse nebulae.  They are also suitable for high-resolution planetary imaging.   They feature ventilation of the primary mirror, dew prevention on the secondary mirror and thermometers on both the primary and secondary mirrors, all of which is controlled by a separately sold Control Box.  There are two, Losmandy-style dovetails one on the top and one on the bottom of the telescope with handles on the rear cell  Mirrors are available in Pyrex, AstroSitall and ULE.  These need to be defined at the time of order.  A field-flattener is also available.  The tubes can be anodised in black, red or blue whilst they can also be painted in any colour.  The mirrors are certified by the manufacturer and every optical tube is tested by Starworks using final, deep-sky imaging.  Contact us for further information and quotes.
